Adams State College Honor Choir Festival starts February 19


The Music Department at Adams State College is proud to announce the 10th annual Honor Choir Festival featuring high school students from around the state. There will be a series of concerts as part of this weekend festival.

A short jazz concert by 68 West, the ASC Jazz Ensemble - joined by the dancers, Alamosa Salseros, and the ASC Steel Drum Band, begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19 in Richardson Hall. The popular ASC Concert Choir and Chamber Choir concert in Sacred Heart Church starts at 8:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20. They will be joined by the Honor Choirs, Dr. Tracy Doyle on flute, and percussionists from James Doyle's studio. The weekend will culminate with the Honor Choirs performing in Sacred Heart Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday Feb. 21. They will be performing pieces by Whitacre, Lauridsen, Schubert, Hogan, Patriquin and Constantini.

The Mixed Honor Choir will be directed by Dr. Beth Wagstrom and the Women's Honor Choir will be directed by Dr. Christine Keitges, both from Adams State College. All programs are open and free to the public. Please join us for a weekend of wonderful music. For more information, call 719-587-7621.
