The Adams State College Mariachi Corazon del Valle presents the Mariachi Spectacular at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 27, in Richardson Hall Auditorium.

The concert will showcase Mariachi San Luis, directed by Frank Vigil; La Familia Branchal, Mariachi Encantdoras del Rio Grande, directed by Nick Branchal; Adams State Mariachi Corazon del Valle, and a performance by Folklorico Semillas de la Tierra, directed by Domingo Estrada.

Directed by Nick Branchal, Mariachi Corazon del Valle members include Adams State students and musicians from Colorado and New Mexico. The group has won awards at the University Level Mariachi Competition at the Albuquerque International Mariachi Conference. The Adams State dance group, Semillas de la Tierra, established in 1970, is one of the oldest clubs at Adams State.

Mariachi San Luis, a community group, has musicians ranging in age from 6 to 60. La Familia Branchal recently completed a CD. The all female group, Mariachi Encantdoras del Rio Grande, has members from Alamosa to Albuquerque.

Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for students and children; and free for AS&F. Tickets can be purchased at the door; or in advance from Papers of Distinction at 510 State Ave. in Alamosa; Mountainview Restaurant in Monte Vista; and the Adams State College Music Department.
