Exploring the Internet is the next ASC faculty lecture topic

Dr. Comfort Cover, assistant professor of management information systems, topic, "How the Internet Works and How to Build a Simple Web Site", is the next Adams State College Faculty Lecture for the spring semester. The lecture begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, in Porter Hall (the science building) room 130.

The Internet was invented in 1969 with ARPANET and now influences how we connect with other individuals, purchase items, perform research and a variety of other activities. The Internet has changed many aspects of our lives. How does the Internet work and what do you need to know about the Internet? Is the World Wide Web the Internet? These questions and others will begin to be answered during our discussion. Along with other topics we will also look into the browser wars; which browser is better how; how to construct a good Internet search, security issues, and others.

All talks are free and the public is invited. Complimentary light refreshments will be offered. For further information on the series of lectures, contact Dr. Robert Astalos, associate professor of physics, at 719-587-7821, or rjastalos@adams.edu.
