Media Satire is subject of first 2010 ASC faculty lecture

Adams State College Dr. Beth Bonnstetter, assistant professor of communication, begins the spring 2010 faculty lecture series with "The Many Sides of Media Satire ". The free lecture begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, in Porter Hall (the science building) room 130.

The academic study of satire in media is often reduced to topographies and narrow definitions that serve little function. This talk will move away from examining satire as a category, and examine several ways it is used in film and television as a rhetorical device.
