ASC Nursing Program welcomes four-year BSN students

A celebratory breakfast welcomed the first 4-Year Bachelor of Science in Nursing class to the Adams State College Nursing Department, on Tuesday, January 19, in the Student Union Building. Faculty, administrators, and students attended the event.

Adams State juniors, Alonzo Lobato's and Leticia Cepeda's humanitarian tendencies led them to the field of nursing. "I want to make a difference in people's lives," Cepeda said. Lobato agreed, "I want to help people."

Since its inception in 2004, the Adams State Nursing was an RN to BSN Program; in 2009 a 4-Year BSN degree was approved. Nursing Program Director Aida Sahud said they accepted 26 students into the new program. "I am very happy with the diversity of students. We are following our mission."

"It is exciting to have this opportunity in the San Luis Valley," Lobato said.
