Zacheis Planetarium free shows continue in 2014

The Adams State University Zacheis Planetarium begins the 2014 spring semester with nine new movies.

All shows are free and open to the public. Tickets are required and will be available at the planetarium when the doors open. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Free programming includes Thursday evening programs, at 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., doors open at 6:45 p.m.

  • January 16 – "Earthquake: Evidence of a Restless Planet"
  • January 23 – "Back to the Moon For Good"
  • January 30 – "Dark;"
  • February 6 – "Escher's Universe"
  • February 13 – live astronomy program
  • February 20 – "Astronaut 2012"
  • February 27 – "Experience the Aurora"

Friday movies begin at 4:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., doors open at 4:15 p.m.

  • January 17 – "Stars of the Pharaohs"
  • January 24 – "Robot Explorers"
  • January 31 – "Supervolcanoes"
  • February 7 – "Into the Deep"
  • February 14 "Dynamic Earth"
  • February 21 – "Tales of the Maya Skies"
  • February 28 – "Life: A Cosmic Story"

On Saturday, Feb. 8, Zacheis Planetarium will present a special program, Jupiter, the Moon, star clusters and double stars: learn about them in the planetarium and see them through telescopes, weather permitting..
