Transformation art exhibit looking for artists


Artwork with a "transformation" theme will be accepted from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, August 26, 27, and 28, in the Adams State College Community Partnerships Building, located on the corner of Main St. and Edgemont Blvd. Please include an artist statement when leaving the artwork. The non-juried show will accept 3-D or 2-D pieces; 2-D pieces must be matted or framed.

The "Transformation" art exhibit is part of the Sixth Annual Adams State Autumn@Adams - "Transformations Begin Here/Los Transformaciones Empiezan Aqui". The 2009 Autumn@Adams is a forum to celebrate the creative impulse toward change. Events will be held from Sept. 12 through Sept. 18 and include a celebration of Darwin's Origin of Species 150th anniversary, and individual challenges overcome through personal transformations.

The art exhibit will open September 14 and continues through September 30 in the ASC Community Partnerships Art Gallery, with an opening reception from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18.

Entry fee is $10 for up to three pieces, members of AS&F may submit one piece at no charge. Artwork will be screened for appropriateness and space limitations.
