Exhibit features "Missions of the Upper Rio Grande"


The rich history of San Luis Valley and Upper Rio Grande Spanish missions has inspired many an artist. The ASC Community Partnerships Gallery exhibit, featuring a private collection of paintings of missions from areas near Blanca, Fort Garland, San Luis, San Acacio, opens July 9.

Artists featured in the exhibit include Fran Dodd, Hurberto Maestas, Marge Mueller and Randy Pijoan, depicting the missions in oil, giclee, and etchings.

An artists' reception is scheduled from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 9, at the ASC Community Partnerships, located on the corner of Main Street and Edgemont Blvd in Alamosa, Colo. The reception and the exhibit are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served at the reception.
