Pictured, Adams State College Dr. Richard Goddard, associate professor of social studies, and students, Jamie Bricker and Amanda Cvinar, from the summer field school in archaeology, attended the annual Society for Historical Archaeological Conference at Amelia Island, Fla. The conference is attended by prominent historical archaeologists from around the world.

Goddard and the students presented the work of the Adams State Fort Garland Field School during a special session open to the public, which explains the research of historical archaeology. They appeared in nineteenth century dress to discuss various aspects of life on a frontier military outpost. The session was attended by two hundred and seventy-six visitors, professionals as well as the general public, including a number of schoolteachers.
