Crack the code in classical paintings


Art can contain meaning beyond the obvious, and Roger Eriksen, associate professor of art, will enlighten his audience at the Adams State College free faculty lecture "Beyond the Da Vinci Code" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, in Porter Hall (the science building) room 130.

Many of the meanings behind classical paintings have been lost or obscured over time due to changes in culture. Some can be totally misinterpreted because of our "modern" viewpoint. This lecture will highlight some of these masterpieces and reveal their hidden symbolism.
