Mariachi Spectacular is March 26

Mariachi Corazon del Valle

The Adams State College Mariachi Corazon del Valle presents the Mariachi Spectacular Concert, at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 26, in Richardson Hall Auditorium. This event is the main fundraiser of the year, enabling Adams State Mariachi Corazon del Valle to attend the Albuquerque International Mariachi Conference.

The concert will showcase Mariachi San Luis directed by Frank Vigil, Mariachi el Tigre, a Taos High School Mariachi and Mariachi los Tigritos, a Taos Junior High Mariachi, both directed by Norbert Martinez; Semillas de la Tierra, dance troupe directed by Domingo Estrada; Mariachi Encantdoras del Rio Grande, all female mariachi, and Adams State Mariachi Corazon del Valle, both directed by Nick Branchal.

Mariachi Corazon del Valle members include Adams State students and musicians from Colorado and New Mexico. The group has won awards at the University Level Mariachi Competition at the Albuquerque International Mariachi Conference. The Adams State dance group, Semillas de la Tierra, established in 1970, is one of the oldest clubs at Adams State.

Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for students and children; and free for AS&F. Tickets can be purchased at the door; or in advance from Papers of Distinction at 510 State Ave. in Alamosa; Mountain View Restaurant in Monte Vista; and from all Adams State mariachi students.
