Adams State will host the Mt. Blanca Summer Music Conservatory

Mt. Blanca Summer Music Conservatory will hold a workshop on the Adams State University campus June 22 through June 27. The weeklong program is for young string musicians, aged 10 years through high school.

The Mt. Blanca Summer Music Conservatory program is designed for strings students, violin, viola, cello and double bass. This program provides students with a week of intensive personal study and practice, private lessons with faculty, collaboration with other young artists through small and large ensembles and education through various workshops and classes.

Students will have the opportunity to perform solo, chamber and orchestral works in the venues at Adam State. Students may also choose to compete to perform a solo in the Honors Recital. Students will be inspired and motivated by attending live performances including a faculty concert.

Various music workshops such as music history, theory, rhythm or improvisation give students a well-rounded and complete learning experience. This program offers the opportunity for students to request what workshop topics they would find most beneficial in order to provide the best experience possible.

The Mt. Blanca Summer Music Conservatory provides a week of excellent musical education and opportunity for every student from the less experienced to the very advanced. All levels are encouraged to apply.

Registration deadline is April 22. The cost for the program is $400 plus room and board. Local students have the option of commuting to the workshop. Scholarships are available.
