"I always wanted the experience of a curator who coordinated an exhibit, little did I know there are so many terrific potters tucked away in our area," Ruggles said.

Women potters in the exhibit include Joann Connington, Lynn Drake, Marilyn Fenton, Charlotte Lee, Crystal Mascarenas, Sharon McCoy, Laura Murphy, Nancy Morlan, Terry Ruggles, Verena Schwarz, Sarah Welch and Frances Will.

The twelve artists, in the exhibit, will share their passion for decorative clay through functional and sculptural pieces. In the future, Ruggles plans on helping build a supportive network of women potters within the San Luis Valley.

The gallery's hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. ASC Community Partnerships is located on the Adam State College campus, at the corner of Main St. and Edgemont Blvd. in Alamosa, Colo. Call 719-587-8209 or 719-587-7869 for information.
