Learn how to program a robot at the December 5 Science Saturday

The Adams State College Science Activity Center, located in the Community Partnerships Building, continues with Science Saturday. On December 5, from 9 a.m. until noon, the Science Saturday guided activity involves robots. The workshop will show you how to use sensors on the robot so it can go through a maze and avoid lights. No prior programming or electronics experience is required for this engaging activity. However, due to the nature of the instruction, it is important to be at the activity center by 9 a.m., if you wish to participate in robots.

Included in the morning activities are self-guided explorations with microscopes, interfaced to notebook computers, available for exploring the microscopic world; toy roller coasters, best for young people; science and music activities; and Mindstorm Legos.

No experience is necessary, just a willingness to experiment. The activities are free and open to the public. Parents are encouraged to bring their children; parents must remain with children 12-years-old and younger. Group activities will begin at 9 a.m. while visitors can explore the open activities at any time.

Visit the online calendar at http://www.adams.edu/calendar/ for dates and descriptions. Visitors are encouraged to learn at their own pace and to follow their own interest.
