Percussion Extravaganza is November 28


The Adams State University Percussion Extravaganza will feature the ASU Percussion Ensemble, the Grizzly Drum Line, the SLV Community Steel Band, and the ASU Rocky Mountain Pan Handlers. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in Richardson Hall Auditorium.

Works by Nigel Westlake, John Cage, Blake Tyson, Anders Astrand and more, will be included as well as big screen projections of art and nature as it relates to the compositions, with guest presenters Dr. Robert Astalos, associate professor of physics, and Claire van der Plas, assistant professor of art.

A special tribute to composer percussion legend John Cage, on the 100th anniversary of his birth, and the Guatemalan marimba will also be featured during the concert.
