“Fill the Truck” Food Drive begins November 5
Are you fortunate enough to have food in your cupboard? Would you care to share your good fortune with struggling college students? A campus survey found that a surprising amount of Adams State University students, faculty or staff experienced food insecurity in the previous year. The Center for Religious and Spiritual Life at Adams State, along with partner spiritual groups, is sponsoring the Fourth Annual Fill The Truck Food Drive to benefit the recently opened ASU Food Pantry. The effort is part of Inspire Your Grizzly Spiritual Wellness Week at ASU. The community is invited to help meet the challenge to fill the truck.
The vintage truck will be parked on the ASU campus near the Ole Mose Grizzly Sculpture, on First Street starting Sunday, Nov. 5. All donations will be presented to the ASU Food Pantry following an interfaith Circle of Gratitude at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, in the Nielsen Library. Participants are invited to bring a food dish to share that represents their heritage. The event is free and open to the public.
