Concert Choir to perform Ave Maria at fall concert


The Adams State University Concert and Chamber Choirs will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at the Sacred Heart Church, located in Alamosa.

The Chamber Choir will perform works by Renaissance composers Thomas Weelkes and Tomás Luis de Victoria, Eric Whitacre, Leonard Bernstein, as well as Brazilian and Gaelic folk songs.

The Concert Choir will perform Ave Maria, a beautiful double choir piece by German composer, Franz Biebl, as well as works featuring texts by William Blake and Rumi. They will also be performing a song in Swahili that was written as part of a film score about TunaHAKI, an organization benefitting orphans in Tanzania.
