ASC honors Constitution day with lecture and discussion

The Adams State College Department of History/Government and Philosophy will recognize Constitution Day with the lecture, "The United State Constitution and Bill of Rights: Are All Persons Born in the United State Citizens?" by Dr. Stephen C. Roberds, associate professor of government. The event begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in Richardson Hall Auditorium.

On September 17, 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention met for the last time to sign the document they had created. All colleges and universities in the United States celebrate this historic event on or around September 17. This year, Roberds will give a talk and invite discussion of the Constitution, Bill of Rights, the Supreme Court, and various methods of interpreting the Constitution.

All members of the ASC community and residents of the San Luis Valley are encouraged to attend this event. Refreshments and copies of the Constitution will be available to all who attend.
