Many students relate to Nazario’s message

Pictured, Pulitzer Prize Award winner, Sonia Nazario, author of Enrique’s Journey signs books and visits with college and high school students and community members in the Adams State University Nielsen Library. Nazario spoke on immigration issues as well as reading passages from her book on September 7.

Later that evening, she showed images and told stories of riding the top of railroad cars through Mexico with immigrants for three months while gathering information for her book.

Nazario’s visit was sponsored by the following Adams State University Departments: Center for Equity in Learning and Teaching, Grizzly Activity Board, Student Engagement and Success, English Department, President's Office, Common Reading Experience.
