Thesis Defense Monday 30th April

Monday, April 30th 2017 Tom Gifford will be defending his thesis for MA Applied Sport Psychology, titled “Employee Perception and Usage of The Arbinger Institute’s Outward Mindset in an Adventure Leadership Setting”. East Campus Room 101 from 10-11am.

On Wednesday, April 25th Cody Van Ry will be defending his thesis for Sports Psychology on the subject of “The Relationship of Sleep and Stress in NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball”. It will be at East Campus in room 108 at 3P.M.

The Paw Print, Adams State’s newspaper, is hiring Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editor for the 2018-19 year. Duties included overseeing paper production and publication, writing stories, and supervising staff. Pay is $13/hour, 10 hours a week expected. Must be a current Adams State student, 2.0 minimum GPA, and must have Wednesday nights available. Work Study approval not necessary. Interested? Job Opportunities with Fastenal of Alamosa

Fastenal of Alamosa is hiring for summer positions and will be on campus this Friday, April 27 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. They are an industrial supply company that does business with local agricultural and construction clients as well as the general public. If you are interested in part-time summer employment with a potential to become a long-term outside rep, visit their booth and talk with them about their application process. They are good about working with class schedules and are interested in hiring college students.

Play Dungeons and Dragons with the Cast of She Kills Monsters this Saturday

Come play Dungeons and Dragons with the cast of SHE KILLS MONSTERS following this Saturday evening’s performance. We will meet in the Theatre lobby at 9:30 p.m. and play until … we’re done. Summer 2018 Museum Work-Study Position

The Adams State University Luther Bean Museum, located on the second floor of Richardson Hall, is currently accepting applications for summer work-study.
Must be available to work during the museum’s open hours: 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. M-F (not necessary to work all those hours).
Main duties will include greeting visitors and assisting with any questions and guiding tours.

Paid On-Campus Internship for Fall 2018

The Salazar Internship is a competitive, paid internship, sponsored by the Emma & Henry Salazar donation, which supports the activities of the Salazar Rio Grande del Norte Center. The Salazar Center is dedicated to the study and preservation of the natural and cultural resources of the upper Rio Grande region. One intern per semester will participate in educational, curatorial, and/or research related activities to support the goals of the Salazar Center, which is located in the Luther Bean Museum, located on the second floor of Richardson Hall. Training is part of the internship experience.

Qualified applicants must be in their junior or senior year and have an interest in museum studies. Applicants must be detail oriented, punctual, and dedicated to their studies. This internship would be most beneficial to students seeking degrees in art, history, anthropology, business, education or other programs. Interns are expected to commit 6 to 8 hours per week to internship related activities.

Students interested in this internship need to email lutherbean@adams.edu requesting an application. The application due date is May 1.

Thesis Defense Greenfield

Matthew Greenfield will be defending his thesis titled Stance Variance Effect on Horizontal Displacement and Barbell Peak Speed During the Pull Phases of the Clean. The presentation will begin at 4:30 P.M. on Wednesday the 25th of April in East Campus room 107.

Finals Approaching- Try NetTutor

We hope that this semester is going well! Student Life is seeking 1-2 students to work in our office over the summer. Candidates must have a strong sense of responsibility, be a reliable self-starter, and have the ability to get their work done with limited direction. Primary responsibilities will be to assist with summer programming/event offerings, office work, customer service, covering The Loft for special events as needed, assisting with the food pantry and other exciting opportunities throughout the summer! Summer work-study eligibility (taking 6 credits in summer) is preferred, but not necessary. Up to 20 hours per week at $10.20 per hour.
