Campus Recreation and Wellness has developed the following policies and procedures to provide the best and safest environment for the Adams State community. These policies are designed for the protection of members, employees, and facilities.
All currently enrolled ASU students must present their Student ID Card or provide their 900# to access the fitness center or the field house. Non-student members must present their ASU ID Card or provide their ID#. All users must have their identification and eligibility verified to access the facility.
ASU faculty and staff that currently pay AS&F dues are eligible for facility access. Spouses and other eligible dependents are also allowed access to the Rex facility. All users must have their identification and eligibility verified to access the facility.
ASU alumni are permitted to purchase a Campus Rec Membership at the current rate.
To encourage health and wellness, Campus Rec members may sponsor up to 4 non-ASU affiliated individuals for day use and 1 individual for a Campus Rec Membership.
ASU ID Cards, Campus Rec memberships, day passes, are nontransferable. Attempts to use another member’s ID or provide a member ID for another’s use violates University and State regulations, and the ID will be confiscated. A fee is required to reclaim the confiscated ID.
Appropriate attire is required at all times. Shirts must cover the area from navel to nipple to comply with this policy.
Clean, non-marking closed toed shoes are required for use of exercise spaces and equipment.
Tobacco, alcoholic beverages, marijuana, firearms/weapons, or illegal substances are prohibited at the Rex Fitness and Wellness Center, intramural fields, Adventure Programs facilities, or on any Campus Recreation affiliated excursion.
Bicycles, mopeds, cleats, skateboards, scooters, etc. are not allowed within the facilities. Such transportation devices must be secured in designated areas.
Photography and videotaping is only permitted within the Rex Fitness and Wellness Center if pre-approved by Campus Rec staff.
Campus Recreation staff reserves the right to deny access or entry to anyone displaying inappropriate behavior, including belligerence or intoxication.
No person shall use words or actions that could provoke a violent response from the individual(s) to whom the words or actions are being directed.
To promote health, patrons should wipe down equipment with a towel before and after use.
Use of Campus Recreation facilities and equipment for personal gain violates University and State policy relating to facilities, services, and solicitations, and is prohibited at all program venues. No unauthorized personal training is allowed.
Patrons are responsible for the cost of any damages resulting from disorderly conduct of misuse of equipment.
All adjustments to the facility or equipment are to be performed by Campus Rec staff members only.
Weights are not to be dropped or slammed.
Chalk is not allowed in any weight area.
Eye protection is required for racquetball and handball.
For safety and security, lockers have been provided for personal belongings. Please keep all belongings in lockers. CRW is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
Only drinks in screw-top, spill-proof, plastic or metal bottles are permitted. Food is permitted only in the lobby and the upstairs lounge.
Children are permitted in the facility to participate in sponsored Campus Rec programs under the direct supervision of a parent, grandparent, or through a specified rental event. Dependent children of a current AS&F dues paying faculty, staff, or student must be accompanied at all times by their parent. Children under age 16 are not allowed in weight areas or on cardio equipment.
