The Art Department
The Art Department at Adams State College is one of the finest art facilities in the state of Colorado.
Studio spaces for Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Photography, Sculpture, Metalsmithing, Graphic Design, Ceramics, and Fibers are well equipped for a wide range of studio processes. Studios are open from early morning until late at night so students' opportunities to delve into art making is excellent.
Students interact closely with their professors, a group of highly trained professional artists.
Take advantage of many opportunities to explore the arts outside of class by participating in a wide range of student art exhibitions, going on field trips, or joining the Student Art League. Recent trips include excursions to the Shidoni Foundry, Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, and New Mexico Museum of Fine Art in Santa Fe, and to the Denver Art Museum.

Art has the ability to provoke, stimulate, and inspire. The mission of the Art Department is to draw on this statement and develop in students the breadth of understanding necessary to explore new ideas and challenge convention. Our aim is to enable students to make the greatest art of all: art that makes a difference.
