Adams State Friends of Music are people who share an interest in the development of talented young musicians at Adams State University who will become tomorrow’s teachers, performers, producers, and scholars. Members’ annual contributions help the Department of Music continue to be a vital force for musical excellence in the San Luis Valley and in the State of Colorado.

The Department of Music is one of the most active and visible departments at Adams State and each year, more than 700 students are actively involved with music through ensemble participation, private lessons, or music classes. Offerings in music literature, performance, theory, recording, and music education are substantial for a small college, and represent a model combination of liberal arts and pre-professional music education for Adams State students.

We hope to see you at some of our concerts and the Adams State music department presently offers choir, jazz choir, band, orchestra, multiple chamber music ensembles, percussion ensemble, jazz combos, and Samba band. Our plans to actively recruit and retain musically and academically talented students will help us maintain an exemplary program. We invite you to become an Annual Member of the Adams State Friends of Music!
