The Adams State Business School BFF introduces new students to program

Incoming freshman business majors receive motivational encouragement from their faculty and tips for success in their classes, on campus, and in the community.

Most of the 76 new Adams State University business students came for the pizza, to meet each other and their business faculty, and the chance to win a tablet, mini-fridge, $100 tuition scholarships, and other gifts. They also received motivational encouragement from their faculty and tips for success in their classes, on campus, and in the community.

Business First-year Focus (BFF) t-shirts, and a handy School of Business Survival Guide were also given to all. "It was just awesome," remarked BFF Coordinator and business professor Dr. Pat Robbins.

Zach Masterson, a freshman from Canton, Ohio, won one of the tablets.

This fall’s new crop of future business leaders came from Buffalo, NY, and Waco, TX. They were born in Costa Rica, and Alamosa, and pretty much everywhere else.

BFF is in its second year in the ASU School of Business and is part of their seven point student retention plan. "Overall new student orientation was very good this year," observed business chair Dr. Michael Tomlin. "Our event simply iced the cake for our students."
