At their meeting on August 8, the Adams State University Board of Trustees honored Erin Minks, longtime San Luis Valley Regional Director for U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, with a formal resolution recognizing her distinguished service to Colorado and higher education. The resolution highlighted her steadfast advocacy for rural, first-generation, and historically underserved students, as well as her years of partnership and wise counsel to the university.

“Erin Minks has been a true friend to Adams State, as well as the entire San Luis Valley,” said Trustee Karla Shriver. “It has been a pleasure for me to personally work with Erin not only at Adams State, but in local government, and the water community here in the San Luis Valley. Her professionalism and collaborative spirit have truly left a lasting impact on the whole Valley.”

All of the Board of Trustees extended their best wishes for her support to Adams State and for a joyful and well-earned retirement.

Board of Trustees Chair Duane Bussey said: “During my time on the board, Erin always expressed a genuine interest in hearing our concerns and sharing information from Senator Bennett’s office that was relevant to Adams State. She was a great listener, and a great partner.  My experience with her in other local organizations and Valley events over the years were always positive. She left her mark and will be dearly missed.”
