Ent Credit Union is investing in the future of students in the San Luis Valley through a $30,000 donation to Adams State University, coinciding with the credit union’s expansion into the San Luis Valley community with a new branch location. The donation is divided into two strategic investments: $25,000 for the Grizzly Summit First-generation student endowment and $5,000 for the student emergency fund. This commitment comes as Ent establishes its presence in the Valley to better serve the financial needs of the local community, including Adams State students and faculty.

“When we decided to build a branch in Alamosa, we knew we wanted to do more than just provide financial services; we wanted to become true partners in supporting student success,” said Annie Snead, Executive Director of Philanthropy & Community Relations at Ent. “First-generation college students face unique challenges, and our support for the Grizzly Summit endowment will help remove barriers that might otherwise prevent these students from achieving their goals.”

The Grizzly Summit First-generation student endowment provides critical support to students who are the first in their families to pursue higher education. The student emergency fund offers immediate assistance to students facing unexpected financial hardships that could jeopardize their ability to continue their education.

“Ent Credit Union’s generous donation represents more than financial support – it’s an investment in the dreams and aspirations of our students,” said Jake Rissler, vice president of advancement at Adams State University. “This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to serve as an access institution for students from all backgrounds, and we’re excited to welcome Ent as a community partner as they establish their new San Luis Valley branch.”

The collaboration between Ent and Adams State reflects both organizations’ commitment to supporting underserved populations. First-generation college students often face financial, academic, and social challenges that can impact their success, making targeted support programs like Grizzly Summit essential for student retention and graduation.

In 2025, Ent expects to provide more than $3 million to nonprofits across Colorado. Further, its team members are active participants in the communities where they live, giving back through thousands of volunteer hours annually, which demonstrates the credit union’s commitment to community engagement beyond financial contributions.
