You you can also login to Blackboard from the OneStop:

  • Select the “Blackboard Course Access” button
  • Then, enter your adams.edu username and password
  • If you get 403 Error, you are logged into a person gmail account. To fix this:

    • Go to google.com
    • Then in the upper right corner of your browser, click on your profile icon
    • Choose or set up your adams.edu account
    • Finally, try logging into Blackboard again

What is my Username?

A username will be issued to you by Adams State University upon enrollment. After receiving your username, you will use it to login to all aspects of the college, including, Blackboard, email, and One-stop. If you do not receive your username, contact Adams State University computing services at 719-587-7741.


How do I change my password?

After you set up your initial password, you can change it. This will change your password for all logins with Adams State University:

  1. Go to the OneStop.
  2. Then, under Student Resources, select change password.
  3. Finally, enter the required information and click “submit query.”

What are Temporary Internet Files (cache), and how do they affect Blackboard?

Temporary Internet Files are the “cache” of the Browser. They temporarily save a webpage on your computer so that it will open faster the next time you access it. When using password-protected sites, such as Blackboard, temporary internet files (cache) can cause issues with access.

Because Temporary Internet Files may interfere with downloading content from Blackboard, clearing your Temporary Internet Files can give you a clean slate.

When using the Mozilla Firefox browser, select “Tools” from the tool bar. Then select “Clear Recent History.” A box will appear asking which items to clear. Then check the “Cache” check box. If you need further assistance, please see: Clearing Cache in Firefox


How do I allow pop-ups from Blackboard?

How do I allow pop-ups from Blackboard?

When using the Mozilla Firefox browser, to allow pop-ups for Blackboard Click on Tools >> Options >> and select the Content tab. Directly across from the Block pop-ups check box, select the EXCEPTIONS tab. Then, in the address of the website you wish to allow, type in: adams.blackboard.com, and select allow.

Blackboard courses require browser plug-ins. In order to avoid technical difficulties with Blackboard, you need one or more of the plug-ins below. Supported browsers will generally automatically download any plug-in required by a particular page, but you may want to download and install these plug-ins now to avoid technical problems.

  • Java – required for all Blackboard components. You can download it for free at http://www.java.com.
  • Adobe Flash – required for many Blackboard courses that incorporate interactive quizzes, animations, and activities. You can download it for free at http://www.adobe.com/.
  • Adobe PDF – most Blackboard courses use Portable Document Files (PDFs). The Adobe PDF plug-in allows you to view these files. You can download it for free at http://www.adobe.com/.
