Adams State CASA Center will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

The Adams State University Cultural Awareness and Student Achievement (CASA) Center scheduled events to celebrate Hispanic Heritage.

All events at the ASU CASA Center, 101 Faculty Drive, unless otherwise noted.

Friday, September 8

Horno Bread and Chokecherry Jelly Samples and Sales
12 p.m. until 2 p.m.
5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
Pre-made bread $8/loaf; fresh bread $10/loaf
Jelly $8/half pint; $12/pint

CASA Fundraiser Dinner
5:30 p.m.
Advance Tickets ($20/plate or $12/plate for ASU students with ID) Required
Available at ASU CASA Center or Juanitos Mexican Kitchen
Meal: horno roasted lamb, borracho beans, Spanish rice, horno baked bread, and biscochitos.
The evening will feature a Native American blessing by Bertha Garcia.

Documentary Films
El Movimiento: The Chicano Movement in Colorado and Northern New Mexico
Symbols of Resistance: A Tribute to the Martyrs of the Chican@ Movement

Light refreshments will be provided.
Question and answer panel will follow the films.
Admission to the documentaries is free and open to the public.
