Adams State Graduate Commencement Ceremony is May 16

During the 2014 Adams State Graduate Commencement Ceremony, Amanda Tafoya receives her Master in Business Administration hood from Liz Thomas and Dr. Ed Crowther.

The Adams State University Graduate Commencement Ceremony, for students receiving their master’s degrees, begins at 1:30 p.m. May 16, in Plachy Hall.

Adams State will award 288 degrees, including: Master of Arts: 2 in Art; 171 in Counseling; 5 in Higher Education Administration and Leadership; 11 in Human Performance and Physical Education; 12 in Humanities-U.S. History; 47 in Teacher Education; 1 in Special Education; 19 Master in Business Administration; 10 in Master of Music degrees; the Human Performance and Physical Education Department will also award 10 Master of Science degrees.

Dr. William Lipke, professor of music, will perform a special selection of music and a slide show featuring the graduate students will be included in the ceremony. A reception honoring the graduates and their guests will be held in the front foyer of Plachy Hall. Dr. Susan Varhely, chair and professor of counselor education; Dr. Rex Filer, professor of counselor education; and will receive recognition as professor emeriti and President David Svaldi will receive recognition as emeritus president.

The event will be streamed live for family and friends unable to attend.
