Adams State University held a Beam Topping Ceremony at the Computing Services Building, currently under renovation and addition.

This traditional event dates back over 1000 years and celebrates the placement of the final bean on a building’s structure, marking the completion of its framework. Adams State President David Tandberg, Ph.D., said the project is tangible evidence of the renaissance currently happening on campus. “We are seeing progress in many areas across campus, but it’s been a long time since Adams State has had such an obvious, physical, large-scale sign of progress.”

Dr. Tandberg and Board of Trustees Chair Thomas Kim thanked the Colorado legislature, in particular the Capital Development Committee and the Joint Budget Committee for funding the project.

Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Administration Kevin Daniel lobbied for four years to secure funding for the $8 million construction project. “I appreciate the entire computing services team. They keep systems running across campus and we are all looking forward to operating out of a remodeled, up-to-date building this fall.”
