Adams State PBL heads to Nat’l Leadership Conference

All 14 Adams State University participants in the recent 2016 Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) State Leadership Conference qualified to compete at this summer’s National Leadership conference, according to club sponsor, Natalie Rogers. In addition, Adams State’s Chance Padilla was elected PBL State President.

Students competed in 26 different events covering a variety of business topics. These included grueling 100-question exams, projects and oral presentations prepared in advance, as well as impromptu role playing in various business scenarios. Rogers, asst. professor of business, gave a presentation on "The Road to Financial Success."

The state conference was held in Colorado Springs; the national conference will be held in Atlanta, Georgia.

Also, the Adams State School of Business presented seven $500 scholarships at the recent state FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) conference for high school students. Scholarship went to students who placed first in competitions in Accounting II, Agribusiness, Economics, Health Care Administration, Securities & Investments, and Future Business Leader. More than 5,000 FBLA members participated.
