Adams State & Trinidad State announce new transfer agreements

Adams State University and Trinidad State Junior College (TSJC) announce four new transfer agreements for students who have earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS), according to Margaret Doell, Adams State assistant vice president for Academic Affairs.

Doell and Lynette Bates, vice president of Academic Affairs for TSJC, collaborated on the agreements, which will allow students with an AAS to transfer to Adams State and earn a BA degree in as little as two years.

"Trinidad State appreciates this opportunity to give our students a solid pathway towards a bachelor’s degree," Bates said.

Because students with AAS degrees can rarely apply their associate’s degree credits toward a four-year degree, this transfer agreement maximizes the number of transfer credits. Most students will be able to apply up to 60 credits toward the 120-credit BA degree.

Students who complete an AAS in Cosmetology, Diesel Technology, Gunsmithing, and Massage Therapy are eligible to apply their AAS credits to a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Business and their chosen AAS area. In order to complete the BA degree, students must follow a specified degree plan.
