The Adams State University accounting students will join Trinidad State Junior College Alamosa Campus to assist the community in filing their taxes for free.

The Denver-based Piton Foundation partners with TSJC, and Adams State accounting students, to help hard-working families become more financially secure by providing free tax preparation assistance through the Tax Help Colorado program. Beginning January 31, IRS-certified ASU and TSJC students will prepare and e-file tax returns free of charge for individuals with household incomes of less than about $55,000 a year.

This free service is quick and confidential.

From January 31 through March 14, the free tax site is open from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. every Monday and from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. every Thursday in the TSJC Learning Center, 101 Main St. Alamosa.
