Alamosa Tip A Cop event supported Special Olympics

The Tip A Cop campaign, held July 19 at the Alamosa Chili’s restaurant, raised $3,625 in tips to benefit Special Olympics Colorado, according the Adams State University Chief of Police Paul Grohowski. "That puts us in 5th place among the 35 Chilis that held fundraisers on the same date," he said. The overall event took in $86,925.64 for Special Olympics Colorado.

The ASU PD was joined by members of the Alamosa Police Department, Alamosa Sheriff’s Department, and the Colorado State Patrol for the event. The officers worked as servers in the restaurant and were joined by area Special Olympians. These agencies also participated in the Special Olympics Torch run, held in Alamosa May 2.

Grohowski was recently named a Deputy Director on the Special Olympics Colorado Board of Directors.
