The Adams State University Music Department presents the “Sandhill Crane” CD release concert performed by the Apricity Trio at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, in Leon Memorial Hall.

The trio consists of Adams State Professors of Music Tracy Doyle, flute, James Doyle, marimba and percussion, and Chiho Sugo, clarinet. Over the 2018 winter break, James and Tracy traveled and performed through Sugo’s home country, Japan. The three have been collaborating on music and exchanges for several years, after rekindling a music school friendship.

The Sandhill Crane CD will be for sale at the concert and proceeds will be used towards the developing International Exchange Program between Gunma University, Japan, and Adams State University.

“We are inspired to raise enough money for a fall residency by Chiho and a Japanese sculpture professor and possibly student exchanges in the future,” James Doyle said.

The concert is $5 for adults, $1 for students, and free to AS&F and Friends of Music. Tickets will be available at the door. For more information, please call 719-587-7621.

A second performance will begin at 7p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at San Miguel Chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico. For information on this concert contact James Doyle at jwdoyle@adams.edu or 719-587-7702.
