ASU Lunchtime Talk will feature lecture about hemp industry

Adams State University will host Dr. Grant Orvis, owner of BoCo Farms, who will present Cannabis Genotypes, Phenotypes & Chemotypes: A look inside Colorado’s Green Revolution, at noon on Friday, Sept. 30, in Porter Hall room 130. The event is free and open to the public.

Although given an arbitrary definition of below 0.3 percent THC, industrial hemp can genetically be separated from marijuana. In this Lunchtime Talks in Science & Mathematics, Orvis will explore the intricacies of Industrial Hemp research and development.

Orvis has served as vice president of the Industrial Hemp Research Foundation, and founded the Colorado Hemp Cooperative. He received his Ph.D. in molecular genetics and reproductive biology from the University of Texas-Houston/MD Anderson Cancer Center.
