Aztec Dancers will perform at Adams State

Enjoy a weaving of cultures at Adams State University in an afternoon of soul and spirit. A performance by the Aztec dance troupe Huitzilopochtli (weet-zil-o-pokt-li) followed by a Catholic Mass will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, on the North Campus Green, in front of Rex Stadium. A community cookout of green chile burgers and Sonoran hot dogs will follow.

The Aztec dancers will end the day with traditional movements honoring Mother Earth and the natural elements. Community members are invited to bring a side dish or desert to share. Donations will be gratefully accepted.

The event is part of Adams State University Hispanic Heritage Week and is sponsored by the Newman Grizz Catholic Club and the Adams State Cultural Awareness and Student Achievement (CASA) Center.
