Jennifer Mueller brings to the Adams State University Board of Trustees an energetic and optimistic attitude as well as experience in leading one of the fastest growing industries in the San Luis Valley.

Trustee Mueller is currently Chief Operating Officer with Alamosa Office Friday Health Plans. “In my work we believe in providing jobs and supporting the community.”
Colorado Governor Jared Polis appointed Trustee Mueller to the board on Dec. 31, 2021, her term expires Dec. 31, 2025. “The SLV is a special place and Adams State adds to the opportunities and possibilities for our community to become stronger and more viable.”
During her term on the board, Trustee Mueller want to focus on increasing enrollment and building morale for campus employees, and working with the community to attract more local high school graduates to complete their degrees here. “I hope we can communicate to working adults who are interested in returning to college just how accessible and flexible Adams State can be to help all potential students reach their goals.”
Trustee Mueller believes Adams State allows access to more than just an education. “The athletic events build a sense of community and the performing and visual arts shows brings creative experiences we can all enjoy without crossing a mountain pass.”
She joined Friday Health Plans in 2015 to create an innovative and highly efficient health insurance company. With 25 years of experience in the health care industry, Trustee Mueller is regionally recognized for developing successful clinical programs and strategies for the management of outcomes and populations.
Prior to joining Friday, Trustee Mueller led operations for a large multi-specialty/primary care practice that included over 18 specialties.
A registered nurse with expertise in both clinical functions and operations, Trustee Mueller received the Luminary Nightingale Award for innovation and leadership in nursing. She is Green-Belt Certified Lean Six Sigma with nursing experience in ER, ICU, and diabetes education. Trustee Mueller is a graduate of Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, where she received a Bachelor of Science in nursing.
