The Adams State University Homecoming of the Century spread grizzly pride throughout campus and community. It really rang true for Rashad Murphy and KatyRose Heldstab when they received the honor of Grizzlies of the Year at halftime of the football game.

Murphy, an exercise science major, is in his final year at Adams State. “Grizzly Pride is the vehicle that lets us learn to believe in something bigger than ourselves. It also means teamwork, because it has a positive impact on morale and performance, and celebrates successes and creates a sense of togetherness.”

Heldstab is a junior majoring in kinesiology/exercise science with a minor in sports psychology. She is also on the swim team. “Grizzly pride means no one gets left behind. Elevating others who have not received help in the past, together we give each other opportunities to succeed. Grizzlies persist, support, and develop at Adams State. During my time as a Grizzly, I’ve seen the Adams State community support each other in unprecedented times.”
