Indian Nickel will perform at Hispanic Rural Heroes Salute on June 25

The Hispanic Rural Heroes Salute includes a dance featuring Indian Nickel. The dance, a fundraiser for next year’s salute, begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the Ski Hi Stampede Complex, located at 2330 Sherman Ave. in Monte Vista, Colo.

The inaugural Hispanic Rural Heroes Salute will honor the contributions of Hispanics in Rio Grande County, in categories including military service, civil service/leadership, arts and music, community leadership, and education.

Hispanic Rural Heroes Salute will celebrate the accomplishments of Hispanic in the community. Sponsors include Metropolitan State University of Denver, Dr. Frank J. Lucero and Dr. Elena Sandoval-Lucero, Monte Vista Chamber of Commerce, and the Adams State University Cultural Awareness and Student Achievement Center (CASA).
