Opera Colorado has scheduled a free performance on March 14

Opera Colorado will present a free show of The Elixir of Love, by Gaetano Donizetti, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, in Richardson Hall Auditorium.

The Elixir of Love: Nemorino loves the town’s brainy beauty, Adina. But the dashing sergeant Belcore arrives and sets his sights upon Adina too. Desperate, Nemorino asks a traveling salesman Dr. Dulcamara to sell him a powerful elixir of love that will convince Adina that he is the one. Romance and comedy ensue as the character’s plans spin wildly out of control. Set in old-west Colorado, this production is sure to charm and delight audiences of all ages.

Cherity Koepke will direct The Elixir of Love with assistant director Brett Sprague. The cast list for The Elixir of Love includes Allison Nicholas, Adina; Omar Najmi, Nemorino; Danielle Lombardi, Giannetta; Ryan Bradford, Belcore; Charles Eaton, Dulcamara; and Parisa Zaeri, pianist.

Opera Colorado’s Young Artists are post-graduate emerging professional opera singers in an eight-month residency with Opera Colorado. Young Artists play a vital role as the voice and face of Opera Colorado in the community. They perform throughout the season in school and community centers across the State.
