What do most college kids have in common? Stress. And leave it to several Adams State doctoral students to publish articles in peer-reviewed journals addressing that issue.

Elisabeth Tomlin’s article, “Using Acudetox for Stress Reduction in College Students: A Brief Intervention Strategy for College Counselors,” was published in the Journal of Creativity in Mental Health. She will receive her Ph.D. at the 2021 Graduate Commencement Ceremony on May 8.

Kayla M. Fruetel, Robert C. Duckworth, Suzanne L. Scott, and Erica N. Fenderson co-authored, “Exploring the Experiences of Counselors Responding to Crisis in Rural Communities,” that was published in the American Psychological Association Journal of Rural Mental Health. They will finish their doctorates in 2022.

Congratulations to these students for recognizing a need and using their education to help solve a prevailing problem.
