Piano Taos will perform a recital of Hispanic composers at Adams State

Piano Taos, a group of five female pianists, will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, in Adams State University Leon Memorial Recital Hall. They will perform a program of Hispanic composers, including Joaquin Turina, Felipe Villanueva, Enrique Granados, Astor Piazzola and Isaac Albeniz. This recital is in support of the Music Department’s ETHOS: Exploring Equity through Music project.

Piano Taos originates in Taos, NM, and their mission is to promote and engage in a broad range of piano performance and educational activities, with an emphasis on exploration and exposure to lesser-known repertoire. The accomplished pianists of Piano Taos come from around the country and include Adams State alumna, Vickie Ford ’71, Kim Bakkum, Claire Detels, Martha Shepp and Martha Grossman. They will be joined by Francis Donald on saxophone.
