Run like you’re being chased by zombies

The Adams State University Society for Advancement of Hispanics/Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) student club will host a Zombie 5K at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, on the ASU campus. Registration fee is $15 and includes an event t-shirt. Participants will begin the 5K at Zacheis Planetarium and are encouraged to dress as a zombie.

This is the first year SACNAS organized the fundraiser, to raise money to attend the National SACNAS Conference in October. According to Dr. Kristy Duran, associate professor of biology and SACNAS sponsor, the Zombie 5K will not include zombies chasing participants to capture life-line flags. "There will be a few zombies along the path to give chase to participants," Duran said.

There will be cash prizes for Top Male, Top Female, and Best Zombie Costume.
