Family and friends of Desiree Quintana gathered with Adams State University School of Business faculty to honor her memory at a plaque dedication on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022.

Quintana was in her final month of classes when a tragic automobile accident took her life on April 3, 2022. In one of her final assignments, read by School of Business Director Liz Thomas-Hensley, Ph.D., Quintana said how much she loved her sons and how they enriched her life and made it meaningful.

Adams State School of Business Desiree Quintana DedicationThe plaque dedicated to Quintana is on a large rock outside the main entrance to the School of Business Building. “This way, we will keep Desiree’s memory alive,” Thomas-Hensley said. “She was a great student and person.”

At the time of her death, Quintana qualified for graduation and received her Bachelor of Arts degree posthumously at the 2022 Adams State Spring Commencement Ceremony.
