The Adams State University Art Department is proud to announce the opening of the annual Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts senior shows in the Cloyde Snook and Hatfield Galleries from April 19 through May 7.

BFA Exhibit Peripheral Vision Postcard imageThe BFA show, Peripheral Vision: Locality, Nature & Survivors, is a collection of work created by Amanda Strickland, Piper Meuwissen, and Alicia David. Their artwork celebrates the resilience and beauty of nature, women and local communities. Its goal is for people to take a closer look at the things around them that often don’t receive the time and attention they deserve. Largely focused on multimedia installations, the trio works with clay, graphics, photography, painting/drawing and found objects.

BA Exhibit Mashup Postcard imageThe Mashup, works of contrasting concepts is a juried student show put on by the BA students: Harry Roberts -Hunt, Isabel Rodriguez, and Christina Chavez. These artists will have pieces featured in this show alongside their fellow Adams State peers. The juror for this show is Jasmine Little, painter and Adams State Graduate Class of 2015.

At this time the galleries are not open to the public, but can be viewed online through a virtual gallery tour, live artist talk, and virtual show opening. All dates, times and links to meetings can be found at https://tinyurl.com/asuartshow2021. Both shows will be available for viewing online starting April 29.
