A career in sports means attaining mastery as an elite athlete and earning a spot on a major sport league team roster, right?  Not always, and Adams State University’s online Master of Science degree in sport administration has been recognized as one of the top 10 “best online master’s degree programs in sports management” for helping provide another route to success in sport.

Adams State placed ninth in the list which considered “accessibility, affordability, quality of education, and return on investment” according to the website “Best Accredited Colleges,” which published the list.

“What makes our program special are our students” Adams State Assistant Professor of Kinesiology Aaron Tuioti-Mariner said. “How we engage with our students and interact is what separates our program from others.”

“The sport industry is an important field to study because of the high consumer demand for sport entertainment, recreation, fitness, products and services. There is a demand for qualified people to manage and lead these companies and sport organizations,” according to Tuoiti-Mariner.

“We are excited for the direction we are going and look forward to great things to come in 2022,” Tuioti-Mariner added, singling out the start of a student-led organization called the Grizzly Sports Alliance (GSA).

The GSA will help students gain valuable professional experience, networking opportunities, and knowledge in research.

The Adams State master’s in sport administration is a 100 percent online program geared to prepare students looking to pursue a career in high school, collegiate, Olympic, or professional sports, parks and recreation, private companies, or sport organizations.
