Sustainability Practices course coming to ASU

With the help of visiting professor, Dr. Nick Parker, formerly of Texas Tech University, ASU Community Partnerships and SEED Park, International are bringing a new sustainability course offering to Adams State University this summer. This course will give students an overview of key environmental challenges facing communities, including businesses, today and provide potential solutions to those challenges. Participants will learn creative ways organizations are currently tackling environmental problems. Through site visits, participants will observe first-hand what the San Luis Valley is doing to combat both local and global sustainability challenges.

The class will be held from June 1, 2015 to Saturday June 6, 2015 in room 142 of Adams State’s School of Business. Class will run Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday. Both Adams State students and the community members are welcome to attend. The course is available both for credit for students and non-credit for non-students. Students can register through Adams State as they would any other course (Sustainability 101, ID 179, and CRN 11565). Community members who wish to sign up for the class should get in touch with Karl Jolliff directly. Registration fees are covered through the normal registration process for Adams State students, and are $200 for the full course or $35 for individual classes for community members. For more information, or for help with registering, please contact Karl Jolliff at jolliffkg@adams.edu or call at 719-587-8209.
