Derouin sworn-in as Adams State Police Chief

Alamosa Mayor Ty Coleman, Vice President for Student Services Ken Marquez, President Cheryl Lovell, Adams State Police Chief Erika Derouin, Adams State Police Officer Nathanial Rael, and Sergeant Ryan Black, Rio Grande County Sheriff’s Office, attended the ceremony.

Adams State University Police Chief Erika Derouin was sworn in on Friday, April 19, by President Cheryl Lovell and Vice President for Student Services Ken Marquez. Derouin is the first female to serve as Adams State’s Chief of Police. She began working in the Adams State Police Department in 2015. She has been a police officer for almost 20 years, including serving in New York for 12 years as an officer, a detective, and acting supervisor and serving 3 years in the State of Florida as an officer.
