STEM at Adams State

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics

In October 2011, the U.S. Department of Education awarded Adams State a $3.6 million grant from the Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) STEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

The five-year grant will fund several initiatives to help more Hispanic and low-income students earn a STEM degree.

Adams State is the central STEM resource in the vast, rural region of southern Colorado and we are pleased to be able to offer these outreach opportunities in STEM to SLV schools.

In addition to these outreach opportunities, ASU hosts a Summer STEM Academy for rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.

Selected participants will have an opportunity to spend two weeks at ASU where they will not only experience dorm life, but will also interact with ASU STEM faculty who will expose them to science, math, and technology in exciting, hands-on ways at the college level.
